Investment DNA

Discipline.

Rigorous thinking and execution. Caring about the small things that have potential to grow into big things. Understanding that tolerating sloppy judgment soon becomes tolerating sloppy practice.

Integrity.

What is integrity? It’s Honesty. Not over promising. Taking commitment seriously. Not flippantly speaking and then lacking following through. Being the same in private as in public. When you learn to be a person of your word, you say less words.

Long term thinking.

Trust is gained in drops and lost in buckets. We don’t manage any investment or relationship for short term gain at the expense of the bigger picture.

Ownership mindset.

We would be doing what we do without our investor partners. We're grateful to each of them because they allow us to do it on a larger scale, but they should know that we sometimes forget they’re involved and treat assets as if they were wholly owned by us.

Ripe’s Culture and Core Behaviors

Accountability

Collaborative

Communication

Initiative

Problem Solving

Reliability

Teachable

You take your personal performance and delivery of results seriously. You take ownership of your work. You are quick to admit mistakes. You don't blame others because you value learning and blaming gives away your ability to learn

You agree that the team's outcome is a reflection of your work, so you want the best idea to win even when it's not your own. You bring ideas and listen to others' ideas

Candor = honesty dipped in honor. You value candid feedback, both receiving it and giving it, so much so that you are willing to be uncomfortable in the process. You believe that even difficult feedback and feedback given to difficult people should be given with respect. You hold others responsible for their commitments and results.  You do not slander or gossip but have direct conversations as soon as possible. You treat others with dignity regardless of status

You're an empowered person. If you see an issue and can easily make something better, you do it. If it was someone else's responsibility, you have a candid conversation afterwards. You don’t “walk past the piece of trash on the ground”. You challenge assumptions when warranted and suggest better approaches

You ethically deliver impressive amounts of results. You are tenacious. There are usually multiple ways to accomplish an objective, and you persevere to seek out different paths when met with obstacles. You ask for help but don't "dump"-- along with your request for help you demonstrate what you've personally done to solve the problem

You do what you say you will, no one has to wonder if you will follow through. You track your own commitments. You’re ambitious but don't over-promise. You are responsive and keep deadlines

When presented with better ways to accomplish results, you are open to testing them and willing to change. No sacred cows.
